Online Marketing To-Do List for January: First Things First!

by Chris Brown on Friday, December 26, 2008

Do you have your online marketing activities mapped out for January? If not, take a look at this list and see if any of these might apply to you:

  • Finish 2009 goals
  • Update website with Title Tags and Hyperlinked Headlines
  • Refresh sell sheets and pdfs with current address, phone number and website references
  • Make plan for the 4 quarterly e newsletters for 2009: photos, articles and bonus give away
  • Write a press release offering “5 tips to _____” with your specialty
  • Repurpose the press release into an article
  • Repurpose the article into a blog post
  • Repurpose all three into a podcast interview
  • Make 5 powerpoint pages – one for each tip
  • Post the power point with the podcast as audio onto Slideshare.net

GREAT LIST and I would add, repurpose each tip as a Tweet on Twitter. I’m finding that my new blog, http://www.makeorbreakmoments.com/blog is receiving far more traffic than prior blogging efforts all because of Twitter.

Okay, now I just have to come up with the FIVE THINGS.

Happy New year!

Thanks for summarizing this to do list. If I just add a few “traditional” marketing actions – like speaking engagements, case studies, tradeshow graphics, seminars/webinars, distributor sell kits, etc…, I pretty much have my action plan for when I return back to work after a long holiday break.

Happy new year!

Deborah:
Great idea about repurposing each tip as a tweet on Twitter. (that’s kinda fun to say really fast!) I’ll work on that one!
Chris

Kim:
You are so right! Sometimes I get so carried away with web2.0 I forget to mention the basics of speaking, press releases, networking thank you notes, sampling and business cards that work like a brochure.
Thanks for the reminder and happy new year to you!
Chris
