How Can On Line Fans Help Save a TV Show?

Since you’re a pretty good marketing expert, I was wondering if you’d think it might be possible to for fans to successfully market and increase the ratings of their favorite television show through fan campaigns. The “Save Chuck” campaign, started by that show’s fans, is an example of a fan campaign that actually worked and it actually managed to keep that show alive. Do you have any examples of other similarly successful fan campaigns for other shows, especially ones that increase the number of viewers (especially since that is what network suits mainly pay attention to)?

I’m asking because there’s a show I and a few others are desperately trying to save and I really want to see it at least get another season.

What would be ways for average fans to successfully market a TV show and increase that show’s viewership through fan campaigns, including social networking and other online avenues?
