New Businesses to Start up through Northeast Ohio in Next 5 Years

by Chris Brown on Thursday, December 1, 2011

I am excited about the Launch Pad that is starting in NE Ohio.  Sponsored by Blackstone Charitable Foundation and the   Burton D. Morgan Foundation, students at  4 area universities will have added resources for starting new companies.

I have long felt that new companies and entrepreneurship will make the difference in Northeast Ohio.

Although the track record of new companies are more challenging that existing companies, if we don’t have new companies starting at a rate faster than the old companies die off, the economy will continue to shrink.

The pilot program was started at University of Miami… in Florida (not Ohio!) and you can read about it here.

Chris you are soooo right. Startup companies and their entrepreneur founders ARE the future of, not only our local economy, but national as well.
